Fanciful, interactive, giant working kaleidoscope. Welded steel base with dichroic glass elements, aluminum tube wrapped in vinyl graphics, acrylic, glass and cast aluminum lenses. Designed to be interactive, entertaining and beautiful for a memorable experience Designed specifically for the site, attention was paid to safety and durability in oceanfront weather, and 24 hour access by a diverse public. Solar lit for enjoyment at night. Appeared in The Big Bay commercial and traveled to Ontario Canada for the annual Tulip Festival in 2010. Loaned to the Coronado Recreation Center on Glorietta Bay, Coronado, CA for one year.

The Californiascope was in the Big Bay commercial and was on display for a year at the Embarcadero.
This was one of the most beloved Urban Trees in 2012 due to its interactive nature, and its playful appeal to children and adults alike.
There are an infinite number of images that are created in the view space of the giant kaleidoscope.
